Iran's Pezeshkian says country will not surrender to U.S.

Investing.com -- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday, stating that Iran will not surrender in its conflict with the United States while expressing support for diplomatic solutions.

Pezeshkian told world leaders that Iran needs to be strong and powerful to resist the U.S. and its enemies. He said Iran's military power serves defensive purposes.

The Iranian president said that Iran needs nuclear energy, not nuclear weapons. He added that the Hormuz Strait cannot be used for the passage of weapons that will be used against Iran.

Pezeshkian stated that Iran will not surrender through military power and believes in diplomacy as a path to end the conflict.
