Investing.com -- Intesa Sanpaolo held a $966 million stake in SpaceX as of June 30, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Italy's largest bank owned nearly 5.66 million shares in Elon Musk's rocket and satellite company at the end of the second quarter, the filing showed.

The position represents the largest holding in Intesa Sanpaolo's U.S. share portfolio. The SpaceX stake accounts for about 33% of the bank's $2.92 billion total U.S. portfolio.

SpaceX listed in June following an initial public offering. The company's current market capitalization stands at around $1.9 trillion.
