Instacart CEO Fidji Simo to join OpenAI later this year

Investing.com -- Fidji Simo, current CEO of Instacart (NASDAQ: CART), is set to join OpenAI as the chief of applications, according to an announcement made by OpenAI on Thursday.

Sam Altman, the current CEO of OpenAI, will maintain his position and continue to directly manage all facets of the company, including its compute and applications sectors.

Simo’s transition from Instacart to OpenAI will occur over the next few months, with her officially joining OpenAI later in the year.

Instacart has stated that it will announce its new CEO in the near future.

In addition to her new role at OpenAI, Simo will continue to serve as Chair of the Instacart Board to provide support to the incoming CEO.
