Huntington Ingalls wins $336 million Navy contract for CVN 82

Investing.com -- The U.S. Department of War awarded Huntington Ingalls Industries Inc. a $336,112,000 contract for advance procurement of long lead time materials to support construction of the future USS William J. Clinton (CVN 82).

The company, based in Newport News, Virginia, will perform the work at its Newport News facility. The project is expected to be completed by March 2039.

The contract will be funded with fiscal 2026 shipbuilding and conversion Navy funding in the amount of $336,112,000. The funds will be obligated at the time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

The contract was not competitively procured in accordance with 10 U.S. Code 3204(a)(1), which allows for sole-source awards when only one responsible source exists and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity. The contract number is N00024-26-C-2182.
