Huntington Ingalls awarded $97.7 million contract for USS Harry S. Truman

Investing.com -- Huntington Ingalls Inc. (NYSE: HII), Newport News Shipbuilding has been awarded a $97,680,000 contract modification for the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier overhaul project.

The U.S. Department of War announced Monday that the cost-plus-incentive-fee modification is for additional long-lead-time materials needed for the refueling and complex overhaul (RCOH) of the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75).

This modification builds upon a previously awarded contract (N00024-24-C-2106) for the Virginia-based shipbuilder.

Work on the project will be performed at Newport News, Virginia, and is expected to be completed by September 2026.

The Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C. is serving as the contracting activity for the project. The announcement noted that funding will not be obligated at the time of the award.
