Honeywell wins $53.9M Navy contract for navigation parts

Investing.com -- Honeywell Aerospace Technologies secured a $53.9 million contract from the U.S. Department of War to supply components for Navy navigation systems. The Minneapolis-based company will provide up to 1,125 parts over five years for ring laser gyros used in the WSN-7 inertial navigation system.

The system supports various Navy submarines and surface ships. All manufacturing work will take place at Honeywell's Minneapolis facility.

The firm-fixed-price contract runs through September 2031 with no option periods. No funds were allocated at the time of award. Future delivery orders will be funded with appropriate fiscal year working capital funds from the Navy.

Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, serves as the contracting authority. The contract was awarded as a sole-source requirement, with Honeywell being the only company solicited and submitting an offer.
