Germany rules out using military to keep Strait of Hormuz open
Investing.com -- Germany will not participate in the war in Iran or any military efforts to keep the Strait of Hormuz open, a German government spokesperson said Monday.
The spokesperson stated that the conflict in Iran has nothing to do with the NATO defense alliance.
"As long as this war continues, there will be no participation, not even in any effort to keep the Strait of Hormuz open by military means," the government spokesperson said.
The spokesperson added that Germany has taken note of remarks made by former President Trump regarding NATO and that the country coordinated with allies over the weekend.
