General Electric wins $2.9B Navy engine contract from DoD

Investing.com - General Electric (NYSE: GE) received a $2.87 billion contract from the U.S. Department of War to provide logistics support for F414 engine components used in the Navy's F/A-18 E/F/G aircraft, the department announced today.

The five-year performance-based logistics contract covers 17 F414 engine components and has no option periods. Work will be performed in Lynn, Massachusetts, where 90% of the contract will be executed, and Jacksonville, Florida, where the remaining 10% will take place.

The contract is expected to be completed by August 2031. Fiscal 2026 working capital funds totaling $198.22 million will be committed at the time of award to fund delivery order N00383-26-F-UA01, with $148.67 million, or 75%, of that amount obligated.

The funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Subsequent delivery orders under the contract will be funded with appropriate fiscal year working capital funds from the Navy, which also will not expire.

Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support in Philadelphia serves as the contracting activity under contract number N00383-26-D-UA01. The department solicited one source for this sole-source requirement under 10 U.S. Code 3204 (a)(1) and received one offer.
