Investing.com -- General Dynamics Corporation (NYSE: GD) secured two military contracts worth a combined $248.9 million from the U.S. Department of War on Friday.
General Dynamics NASSCO in San Diego, California received a $149.6 million fixed-price incentive fee contract for maintenance, modernization and repair of USS Pinckney (DDG 91) as part of the Fiscal 2026 Depot Modernization Period. The work covers labor, supervision, equipment, production, testing, facilities and quality assurance needed for critical modernization, maintenance and repair programs.
The contract includes options that could increase its total value to $149.9 million. Work will take place in San Diego and is scheduled for completion by September 2028. The Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C. awarded the contract without competitive bidding under 10 U.S. Code 3204 (a) (1), citing only one responsible source available.
Funding comes from fiscal 2026 Navy procurement funds totaling $135.8 million, operations and maintenance funds of $12.9 million, and weapons procurement funds of $905,164. The operations and maintenance portion will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
General Dynamics Mission Systems in Scottsdale, Arizona received a separate $99.3 million cost-plus-award-fee task order for the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) Ground Infrastructure Segment. The contract covers design, upgrade, integration and deployment of changes to the MUOS Ground Segment for integration of two MUOS service life extension satellites.
Work will be performed in Scottsdale with completion expected by Sept. 3, 2028. The Space Force Portfolio Acquisition Executive for Satellite Communications and Positioning, Navigation, and Timing at Los Angeles Air Force Base awarded the sole source contract. Fiscal 2026 research, development, test and evaluation funds of $23.7 million are being obligated at award.
