Investing.com -- Gen Digital Inc. (NASDAQ: GEN) shares rose 5% in after-hours trading Monday after CEO Vincent Pilette addressed recent acquisition speculation and highlighted the company’s recently raised fiscal 2027 outlook.
In a LinkedIn post on September 28, 2026, Pilette noted that the cybersecurity company recently lifted its fiscal 2027 revenue growth guidance to 9%-11% and its non-GAAP earnings per share growth outlook to the mid-to-high teens. Furthermore, he stated that the quarter ending October 2 and the full-year outlook are both tracking toward the higher end of guidance.
Pilette also addressed market rumors about a potential acquisition of GoDaddy, stating he could not comment on rumors but outlined the company’s disciplined acquisition strategy. The CEO said Gen Digital evaluates potential acquisitions based on five criteria: strategic fit, price, efficiency creation, accretion, and whether the deal offers better value than share buybacks while maintaining a strong balance sheet.
Pilette highlighted the company’s transformation from low single-digit growth to double-digit growth, citing successful past acquisitions including Avast and MoneyLion. The Avast acquisition added hundreds of millions of active users and improved monetization capabilities, while MoneyLion expanded the company into financial wellness and is on track to deliver more than 30% return on invested capital in its second year.
Gen Digital has grown from generating $2 billion in revenue and less than $1 in EPS six years ago to more than $5 billion in revenue and nearly $3 in EPS currently. The company’s strategy focuses on protecting and empowering consumers in the digital and agentic world through innovation, partnerships, and selective acquisitions.
