FIFA denies Belgium appeal over Balogun eligibility
Investing.com -- FIFA's appeals committee rejected the Royal Belgian Football Association's appeal regarding US striker Folarin Balogun's eligibility for tonight's match.
The committee ruled that the RBFA's request was inadmissible because it is not an active party in the current proceedings between FIFA and US Soccer.
The RBFA stated the ruling violates FIFA's rules and regulations. The association said it has not received any explanation for the decision or the information it requested since the procedure began, including a copy of the eligibility decision and the referee's report.
Balogun is cleared to play against Belgium in Seattle despite receiving a red card and being dismissed last week against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
