Investing.com -- The European Union is examining the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to strike down President Donald Trump's tariffs, an EU spokesperson said Friday.
"We take note of the ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court and are analysing it carefully," the spokesperson said. "We remain in close contact with the U.S. Administration as we seek clarity on the steps they intend to take in response to this ruling."
The spokesperson emphasized the importance of trade stability between the two economic blocs. "Businesses on both sides of the Atlantic depend on stability and predictability in the trading relationship," the spokesperson said.
The EU continues to push for lower trade barriers. "We continue to advocate for low tariffs and to work towards reducing them," the spokesperson added.
