Dubai Aerospace Enterprise CEO sees progress at Boeing, issues with suppliers

Investing.com -- The CEO of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Capital, Firoz Tarapore, stated that engine manufacturers and smaller suppliers are the main bottlenecks in aircraft production, not the major airframe manufacturers.

Speaking at the Airline Economics conference on Monday, Tarapore highlighted that his company sees "enormous progress coming out of Boeing," while identifying engine original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and other suppliers as the areas with bigger issues.

"There’s just no easy way to reconcile why we are still where we are relative to where we used to be in terms of how long it takes to manufacture something, deliver something or to agree to commit to do that," Tarapore said during his address.

The DAE chief also predicted significant consolidation activity in the aircraft leasing sector, particularly among companies ranked between 20th and 50th in the industry
