Investing.com -- Disney and its ABC unit filed a lawsuit on Tuesday against the Federal Communications Commission to block an early license review of eight ABC television stations. The company said the review represents an attempt by the Trump administration to punish the network.
President Donald Trump has repeatedly called on broadcasters to cancel comedy or news programs he dislikes or that have criticized him. He has also pressed the FCC multiple times to revoke ABC's licenses.
The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, states that the FCC is attempting to coerce and retaliate "against a network that refuses to bow to the administration's demands."
