China to impose 54.3% deposits on U.S. and Mexican pecans
Investing.com -- China's Commerce Ministry announced Monday it will impose 54.3% security deposits on fresh or dried pecans imported from the United States and Mexico, citing damage to the domestic pecan industry.
The ministry said pecan imports from both countries caused what it described as substantial damage to China's local pecan sector.
The security deposit requirements take effect Tuesday.
The ministry did not provide additional details about the scope of imports affected or the duration of the measures.
