Investing.com -- China's commerce ministry on Monday rejected U.S. tariffs on Chinese products related to forced labor allegations and called on Washington to remove the measures.

The ministry issued a statement demanding that the U.S. abandon what it called unilateral tariff actions imposed under Section 301 of U.S. trade law.

China expressed willingness to engage in talks with the United States based on mutual respect, equality and shared benefits to address concerns from both sides, according to the ministry statement.

The ministry said it will monitor U.S. actions and maintain the right to respond with necessary measures as it evaluates the situation.
