Investing.com -- Canada's minister responsible for U.S. trade, Dominic LeBlanc, held a lengthy and constructive meeting with U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer on Tuesday. The two officials agreed to continue discussions next week.

The United States, Mexico and Canada must determine whether to extend their trilateral trade agreement without changes or propose modifications. Revisions will not be finalized by the July 1 deadline.

The July 1 date is set to trigger a 10-year termination clock for the USMCA, during which negotiations would continue. LeBlanc stated that progress continues to be made following the meeting at the G7.
