Boeing wins $552m Navy contract for MQ-25A Stingray aircraft
Investing.com -- Boeing Co. received a $552,053,000 contract modification from the U.S. Department of Defense for the production and delivery of MQ-25A Stingray aircraft for the Navy. The St. Louis-based company will produce three low-rate initial production Lot One aircraft and acquire long-lead components for three additional Lot Two aircraft under the agreement.
The work will take place primarily in St. Louis, Missouri, which accounts for 56% of the contract activity. Other locations include Torrance, California at 8%, Indianapolis, Indiana at 4%, Quebec, Canada at 3%, and McKinney, Texas at 2%. Additional work will occur in Ontario, Canada, Kansas City, Missouri, Wichita, Kansas, Irvine, California, and various other sites. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2031.
The Navy will fund the contract using fiscal 2025 aircraft procurement funds totaling $100,000,000 and fiscal 2026 aircraft procurement funds of $64,428,480. Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Maryland, serves as the contracting authority. The contract was awarded without competition as a modification to a previously issued firm-fixed-price advance acquisition agreement.
Boeing also secured a separate $16,184,860 contract for intercontinental ballistic missile door launchers through its Layton, Utah facility. The four-year contract runs through September 30, 2030, and will be funded with fiscal 2026 defense working capital funds. Defense Logistics Agency Weapons Support at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, manages this agreement.
