Boeing wins $174M in U.S. defense contracts for engines, training

Investing.com - The U.S. Department of Defense awarded Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) two contracts totaling approximately $173.8 million for military aircraft components and training systems, the department announced this week.

The Department of War awarded Boeing's Tukwila, Washington facility a $156.2 million firm-fixed-price contract for up to 31 P-8A Engine Build-Up kits, including 18 for the Navy and 13 for Foreign Military Sales customers. The contract also covers up to two Quick Engine Change kits for C-40A Clipper spare engines.

Work on the P-8A contract will be performed in Tukwila, Washington, with completion expected in August 2031. Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity. No funds will be obligated at the time of award, with funds allocated as individual orders are issued.

Boeing's St. Louis, Missouri facility received a $17.6 million cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price modification to an existing contract for an F-15 Japan Super Interceptor Eagle Passive/Active Warning Survivability System weapons system trainer. The modification covers integration of EPAWSS functionality into the existing aircrew training system, including software development, testing, simulator updates, and courseware development.

The F-15 trainer work will be performed in St. Louis, Missouri, with completion expected by Feb. 28, 2031. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity. The full $17.6 million in Foreign Military Sales funds for Japan is being obligated at award.
