Boeing wins $163M Air Force contract for B-52 upgrades

Investing.com - Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) has been awarded a $162,966,689 contract by the U.S. Department of War for B-52 production and sustainment work, the Air Force announced Tuesday.

The cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee, cost-reimbursement, and firm-fixed-price delivery order provides for the manufacturing, production, kitting, and delivery of B-52 Bomb Rack Modernization System kits in support of the B-52 Radar Modernization Program. The contract was issued under an existing indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract established in 2019.

Work will be performed at San Antonio, Texas, and is expected to be completed by Dec. 20, 2028. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, serves as the contracting activity.

The Air Force obligated $34,952,225 in fiscal 2026 aircraft procurement funds at the time of award on Aug. 21, 2026. The contract was awarded on a sole-source basis.

Boeing's Oklahoma City, Oklahoma facility received the delivery order, which supports ongoing modernization efforts for the B-52 bomber fleet.
