Investing.com -- Boeing and the union representing its engineers and technical workers announced Tuesday they will begin formal contract negotiations ahead of their labor agreements expiring in October.
The Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace, which represents about 17,000 members, said it seeks better pay, improved benefits and more flexible work arrangements.
SPEEA aims to negotiate two separate collective bargaining agreements with Boeing. One agreement will cover approximately 13,000 engineers, while the other will address about 4,000 technical workers.
Negotiators for SPEEA will begin formal contract talks with Boeing on July 1.
