Boeing secures $82 million in defense contracts for space and aviation

Investing.com -- Boeing (NYSE: BA) has been awarded two separate defense contracts worth a combined $82 million for space communications and aviation components.

The U.S. Department of Defense announced that Boeing Space in El Segundo, California received a $40.5 million cost-plus-fixed-fee modification to an existing contract for Global SATCOM Configuration Control Element Modernization. This modification brings the total contract value to $3.14 billion.

Work on the space communications project will be performed in El Segundo and is scheduled for completion by September 30, 2028. The Space Force is funding the project with $32.3 million in fiscal 2024 research development test and evaluation funds. Space Systems Command at Los Angeles Air Force Base is managing the contract.

In a separate award, Boeing's St. Louis, Missouri division secured a $41.8 million modification to an existing delivery order against a three-year requirements contract. This sole-source acquisition will retroactively increase line items and provide additional funding to extend the current undefinitized contract action.

The Missouri-based work has a completion date of September 16, 2027, and will serve the Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. The contract will be funded through fiscal 2025-2026 defense working capital funds, with the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation in Philadelphia overseeing the project.
