Investing.com -- The Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) has been awarded a $166.8 million contract by the U.S. Department of War to provide engineering and software support services for the Navy's P-8A systems.
The cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract covers engineering analysis, software maintenance, software support services, and modernizations to software and associated hardware capabilities for P-8A systems. The work also includes software engineering sustainment tasks related to obsolescence, improvements and enhancements.
Work under the contract will be performed across three locations: Seattle, Washington, which will handle 78% of the work; St. Louis, Missouri, accounting for 12%; and Huntington Beach, California, representing 9% of the work. The contract is expected to be complete by December 2030.
No funds will be obligated at the time of award. Instead, funds will be obligated on individual orders as they are issued. The contract was not competed.
