Boeing awarded $34 million contract for Japan's E-767 AWACS upgrade

Investing.com -- Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) has been awarded a $34,246,819 modification to a previously awarded contract for upgrading Japan's E-767 Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) mission computing capabilities.

The modification brings the total contract value to $35,530,249, according to the U.S. Department of Defense. The contract falls under the Foreign Military Sales program to Japan.

Work on the project will be performed in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and San Antonio, Texas. The project is expected to be completed by May 14, 2028.

The Air Force Lifecycle Management Center at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts is overseeing the contract. At the time of the award, $3,865,562 in Foreign Military Sales funds were obligated.

The contract specifically covers post-delivery support for the mission computing upgrade of Japan's E-767 AWACS aircraft.
