Bloom Energy Corp shares fell nearly 5.0% in morning trading on Thursday as investors reduced positions before the company's third-quarter 2026 earnings report scheduled for release after the market close.
The earnings report follows a strong second quarter in which Bloom Energy posted record quarterly revenue exceeding $1 billion for the first time. Analysts now expect revenue of approximately $1.06 billion and earnings per share of around $0.69 for the third quarter, representing a sequential decline from the prior period.
Options markets priced in a potential move of nearly 10% in either direction around the earnings release, prompting some traders to exit positions rather than hold through the expected volatility.
BMO Capital recently raised its price target on Bloom Energy to $260 while maintaining a Market Perform rating. An insider Form 4 filing dated October 21 also appeared on company records.
Investors are monitoring potential updates on a pending air permit connected to Bloom's designation as the power source for a major AI data center campus. Any information on the permit status could affect the company's full-year guidance.
