Investing.com -- Anthropic PBC plans to grant 150 additional organizations worldwide access to Mythos, its artificial intelligence model designed to identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities, the company said Tuesday.

The expansion brings the total number of groups with access to approximately 200. The new users span 15 countries and include organizations in power, healthcare and communications sectors, according to the company.

Anthropic declined to identify the new participants but said the group includes companies and nonprofits that produce key programming code for broader use. The European Union's cybersecurity body will reportedly receive access to the software.

The announcement follows Anthropic's filing of confidential paperwork for an initial public offering on Monday, moving the startup ahead of AI competitor OpenAI. The company said it had not determined the number of shares it would offer or their price.

Mythos can identify and exploit vulnerabilities in every major operating system and web browser when directed by a user, Anthropic said. The San Francisco-based company initially restricted access to the software through Project Glasswing in April, limiting it to a handful of large technology and Wall Street firms.

Since its launch, Mythos has been used to discover more than 10,000 serious vulnerabilities, the company said. Anthropic said it plans to release new AI models with cybersecurity capabilities comparable to Mythos in the coming weeks after making progress in developing necessary safety safeguards.

The company raised $65 billion in a funding round last week at a $965 billion valuation, surpassing competitor OpenAI's valuation for the first time.
