Airbus delays deliveries over A320 fuselage issue, says CEO

Investing.com -- Airbus is evaluating how a newly discovered fuselage quality issue on some A320 jets will impact its year-end deliveries, CEO Guillaume Faury said on Tuesday.

The problem has already resulted in "weak" November deliveries as some aircraft were halted, Faury told Reuters in an interview.

The European planemaker now faces an additional challenge to its already backloaded year-end delivery schedule. Faury indicated the company will assess the situation for December deliveries "in the hours and days to come."

The CEO said Airbus is studying the impact on a case-by-case basis, examining each affected aircraft individually. When asked specifically about the status of December deliveries, Faury stated that "in the next hours and days this will be clarified."
