Air Products fourth-quarter income matches expectations
Investing.com - Air Products has posted fiscal fourth-quarter sales of $3.17 billion, meeting Bloomberg consensus estimates, as weak industrial gas sales in its Americas region were offset by demand in international markets.
Adjusted earnings per share stood at $3.39 for the quarter and $12.03 a piece for the year as a whole.
Annual sales dipped by 1% to $12 billion, with the company saying higher energy cost pass-through to customers and increased pricing mostly offset a 4% decrease in volumes linked to a 2024 sale of a LNG business.
For its 2026 fiscal period, the company said it expects to report adjusted per-share income of $12.85 to $13.15.
"As we move through fiscal 2026, we remain focused on high-return industrial gas projects with strong customer relationships, disciplined capital allocation, operational excellence and productivity, and right-sizing the organization to fit our project needs," said CEO Eduardo Menezes in a statement. "With this focus, we have a solid roadmap for improving operating margins and unlocking significant value for our shareholders."
Shares of the industrial gas manufacturer were higher by more than 3% in premarket U.S. trading on Thursday.
Earlier in 2025, Air Products lost a proxy fight with activist investor Mantle Ridge, who had been pushing the firm to replace its 80-year old chief executive. The dispute came as the group was already grappling with pressure from high inventory levels and potentially more tepid demand in areas like China and Europe.
