Investing.com -- Agilent Technologies shares dropped approximately 7% on Thursday following the company's first-quarter earnings report released Wednesday.
The life sciences and diagnostics company posted earnings per share of $1.36 for the first quarter, falling short of the analyst estimate of $1.37. Revenue reached $1.8 billion, also missing the consensus estimate of $1.81 billion.
For the second quarter of 2026, Agilent Technologies projects earnings per share between $1.39 and $1.42, compared to the analyst consensus of $1.39. The company expects second-quarter revenue to range from $1.79 billion to $1.82 billion, above the consensus estimate of $1.767 billion.
Looking ahead to the full fiscal year 2026, Agilent Technologies forecasts earnings per share between $5.90 and $6.04, versus the consensus of $5.93. The company anticipates full-year revenue to fall between $7.3 billion and $7.5 billion, compared to the analyst consensus of $7.355 billion.
