eBay (EBAY) Lower Amid Launch of Google's (GOOG) 'Wallet Card'

eBay (Nasdaq: EBAY) is seeing a little bit of pressure Wednesday afternoon following reports that a new entrant is looking to make life harder for its PayPal segment.

(Well, maybe not new entrant so much as official entrant.)

Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) made its Google Wallet Card available today. The card is prepaid so users will have access to their Google Wallet account.

While it might seem like just another debit card, the Google Wallet Card has the following features:

* Spend anywhere. Use your Wallet Balance to shop and pay in stores by swiping your card at millions of MasterCard® locations.

* Get cash at ATMs. Withdraw money from your Wallet Balance at ATMs. Some ATM providers may charge you a fee for cash withdrawals.

* Receive instant notifications when you spend money. Get instant notifications right on your phone to help you keep tabs on all of your transactions.

* Be free of annual or monthly fees. You can order the Google Wallet Card for free, and there are no annual or monthly service fees to use the card.

So, while PayPal, Square, and others have been looking to break further into the physical payment segment (while still trying to push folks to use NFC or other virtual payment methods), Google has launched the card which has been in development for some time.

Shares of Google are down 0.2 percent, while eBay is off 4 percent.
