Yahoo! (YHOO) Up 5% On Surprise Beat and New CEO Comments

Shares of Yahoo! (Nasdaq: YHOO) are 5% higher in after-hours action after reporting a surprise fourth quarter earnings beat.
Yahoo reported Q4 EPS of $0.17, 4 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.13. Revenue for the quarter was $1.375 billion, versus the consensus of $1.37 billion. Yahoo sees Q1 revenues of $1.53-$1.725 billion, which includes TAC and does not compare to the consensus of $1.29 billion.
On her first Yahoo! earnings call, new CEO, Carol Bartz, had some interesting things to say. Below are some highlights:
- Bartz said she doesn't plan to sell the company.
- Bartz said product innovation has been accelerating
- Bartz acknowledged there are problems to address
- Bartz said she needs to bring more clarity to the strategy
