YELL Guidance Could Help Sooth Market Fears

June 24, 2005 11:31 AM EDT
Yellow Roadway's (Nasdaq: YELL) 'high end' Q2 guidance news could help the entire market. One of the main reasons for yesterday's major sell-off was fears higher oil prices would hurt company profits, which crept into the market after FedEx's (NYSE: FDX) poor guidance. There is no question trucking company Yellow is facing higher fuel cost, but somehow they are overcoming it maybe they are suitably hedged or theyre passing the costs to customers. The other indication is customers are shipping in heavy volume, indicating the economy is still chugging along. Does anyone else smell a rise in your FedEx rates coming?
