Is your head spinning yet? Well it should be. We are now on our sixth straight day of 400+ point intra-day swings in the Dow and the fourth straight day of 500+ swings.
Here are the daily ranges on the Dow Jones the past six trading days:
August 4, 2011: 521.80
August 5, 2011: 416.41
August 8, 2001: 624.24
August 9, 2011: 639.94
August 10, 2011: 541.51
Today: 549 (so far)
Also, for the first time, the Dow has closed up or down more than 400 points four times in a row.
