Will Martha Stewart release from jail on March 6th signal a top in the stock (NYSE: MSO)? The stock, which suffered with her downfall, has been on fire since rumors first surfaced that Martha would enter jail early. When she did, good things started happening.
Not only has Martha's entrance into jail been good for the company, it has been good for her (TV deals with NBC) and spectacular for the stock. The stock is trading near its all-time high, currently at $36.34/share.
The old Wall Street saying, "buy the rumor ...sell the news" might apply here. The rumor being, 'Martha will be bigger then ever when she gets out of jail!' The news being, 'she's out!'
Then again, this may be too easy of a call, and the stock could go even higher as the next piece of speculation enters the fray. How about these: Martha Stewart to become President!, Martha Stewart passes Bill Gates as World's Riches!, Martha Stewart Marries Eddie Lampert and They Takeover Wal-Mart!
