Will Apple (AAPL) Buy Twitter?

Valleywag reported earlier today that it is hearing from a good source that Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) may buy Twitter. In fact, Valleywag is hearing that Apple is close to tying up the deal for approximately $700 million.

Valleywag said, "A source who's plugged into the Valley's deal scene and has been recruited by Apple for a senior position says Apple and Twitter are in serious negotiations, with the goal of unveiling a deal by June 8, when Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference launches in San Jose."

Previously, Twitter has turn down an offer from Facebook of $500 million in cash and mostly stock.
