Whole Foods (WFM) Will Begin Selling Keurig-Compatible Pods (GMCR)

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (Nasdaq: GMCR) on watch as Whole Foods (Nasdaq: WFM) is said to start selling Keurig brewer-compatible coffee pods.
Bloomberg noted that Whole Foods will sell a 12-pack of 365 Everyday Value K-Cups at $8.99 per package at U.S. locations. There will be five varieties of the coffee, according to a Whole Foods spokesperson.
There is no current relationship between the two companies.
Whole Foods' pricing is about in-line with what Green Mountain sells its K-Cup for on retail shelves.
Shares of Green Mountain slid on Wednesday following commentary from SunTrust analyst William Chappell, who said K-Cup sales growth for the company has slid from 13 percent in August to just 5.1 percent last month.
Green Mountain is down 4.3 percent Thursday afternoon.
