WDFC Takeover Talk Reemerges

June 10, 2005 1:53 PM EDT
Takeover talk on WD-40 Co (NASDAQ: WDFC) reemerges after a Street.com contributor, who is long the stock, highlights the company as a takeover target. The stock hasn't had much response from the report, but has peaked our interest a little. We make note of the article because 1. We've heard WD40 takeover rumors a few times before 2. The stock has had a pretty large pullback from April. 3. This look like a perfect buyout situation for a private equity firm, which have been on the hunt for deals recently. 4. Looks like the perfect opportunity for an Ichan-like investor to get involved and bust management's chops to get the stock moving. 5. The company, as noted in the Street.com article, is currently paying a 3.6% dividend to wait for a takeover.
