Tesla Motors (Nasdaq: TSLA) is indicated lower Wednesday morning following headlines that it might be having a little trouble in big Shanghai.
According to Bloomberg, Shanghai State Grid general manager of electric vehicles, Fan Ye, said public charging stations in Shanghai wouldn't be compatible with Tesla vehicles, but they would work with BYD and BMW vehicles.
Comments were made at an event for a pilot electric vehicle zone with BMW.
Fan said Shanghai will have 46 charging points by the end of 2014.
While Tesla will be building out its Supercharger network as rapidly as possible in China, the initial headlines might startle some potential buyers.
