United Parcel (UPS) Sees Upside on Strong FedEx (FDX) Q4 Results

United Parcel Service, Inc. (NYSE: UPS) is trading higher at the open today, following strong results out of rival FedEx (NYSE: FDX). UPS is up 3.3% early.

Earlier, FedEx reported EPS of $0.81, ex-items, on revs of $9.66 billion, compared to consensus EPS of $0.82 and revs of $9.61 billion. FedEx sees Q411 EPS of $1.66 - $1.83, versus the consensus EPS of $1.68. For the FY11 adjusted EPS of $4.83 - $5.00, in-line with the consensus EPS of $4.90.

UPS, on February 1st, reported EPS of $1.08 on revs of $13.4 billion, versus consensus EPS of $1.05 and revs of $13.4 billion. Guidance out of UPS called for EPS of $4.12 - $4.35, versus the consensus of $4.18 at the time.

United Parcel is expected to report their Q111 earnings on April 26, 2011.
