United (UAL) Computer Glitch Offers Big Discounts Once Again

United Airlines (NYSE: UAL) might either have the craziest web marketing strategy in the history of the airline segment, or it seriously needs to revamp its back-end operations.

Reports out Tuesday have another once-in-a-lifetime deal being offered by United. Due to a website glitch, users can setup a MileagePlus account, which will trick the site into thinking the user has racked-up Frequent Flier miles.

One such offer is a trip from Newark, N.J., to Dublin, Ireland, for about $49.40, inclusive of taxes and fees.

United had a similar problem in September, but said it would honor flights that were purchased for $0, citing human error on the move.

It wasn't made clear whether the current loop hole has been closed or not.

United is up in early trading Tuesday.
