US Steel (X) Stems Slide, Still Down ~6% Following Selloff

United States Steel Corp. (NYSE: X) has flattened and started to gain modestly Thursday afternoon following largely an entire-day slide. After closing at $31.25 Wednesday, shares dropped 7.2 percent on the session to the new low.

Volume on the day is also about 50 percent better.

With about 144 million shares outstanding, that is an erosion of $320 million in market cap.
