United Parcel Service (NYSE: UPS) is on watch Thursday following a late holiday buying surge which caught the shipped off guard.
One spokesperson for UPS told the WSJ on Wednesday,
FedEx (NYSE: FDX) was also reportedly hit with delays, though the company didn't issue a statement on reports.
Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN) jumped into action, offering affected customers shipping refunds and a $20 gift certificate.

The volume of air packages in the UPS system did exceed capacity as demand was much greater than our forecast.Patches of bad weather were also said to contribute to the delays.
