Following news out this morning that ValueAct took a $2 billion stake in Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), founder Jeffrey Ubben is speaking at the Active-Passive Investor Summit in New York today.

Ubben says Microsoft is a "compelling" investment and its produces like Azure, SharePoint, and Lync have "plenty of room to grow." He thinks Microsoft might take the title of 'World's Largest Company' within three to five years.

Speaking after the conference, Ubben noted that his firm's $2 billion investment is equal to nearly 62 million Microsoft shares. With its latest quarterly report, Microsoft reported 8,351,106,590 shares outstanding.

Shares of Microsoft are up about four percent Monday, having worked a little higher on Ubben's comments.
