EU said to prep probe into McDonald's (NYSE: MCD) tax affairs, according to the WSJ.

UPDATE - According to the report, McDonald's will be the fourth U.S. multinational to come under scrutiny since the European Union widened its investigation into alleged tax deals.

The EU may announce Thursday a probe into McDonald's which will examine the fast-food giant's tax arrangements in Luxembourg and whether or not those violate EU law.

EU officials were said to write Luxembourg's government earlier in 2015 requesting information about its relationship with McDonald's.
