Twitter Hopes to Tap BBM Interest with Updated BB10 App (BBRY)

BlackBerry (Nasdaq: BBRY) is making some strides with its BB10 and BES10 platforms. The company can now boast that it has a refined Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) app.
According to TheNextWeb (TNW), the following updates have been made:
-- Home Timeline Photo Preview – Tweets with Twitter photos let you be part of the moment. Tap the image to reveal the full screen version.
-- BBM Connected – Tweet and update your BBM status at the same time.
-- In Line Reply – Join the conversation with an in-line reply when you click on a Tweet.
-- Get to what you love faster with our improved performance and full screen image viewing.
-- Find the accounts you're looking for with improved search results.
-- Report spam or abuse by clicking on the Tweet details screen.
While TNW thinks BB10 users should like the update, the app (old and new version) has received 2.5 out of 5 starts in BlackBerry's App World and that's after 12,978 reviews. (More here.) Investors will have to wait and see whether that rating climbs following the update.
Shares of Twitter are modestly higher and BlackBerry is down 1.8 percent Tuesday.
