Twitter (TWTR) to Add Direct Messaging Notifications for Web Users

Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) is aiming to enhance engagement with a new direct message feature.
Twitter posted the following to its official account on Monday:

— Twitter (@twitter) August 24, 2015Twitter users that access the platform from the Web will be able to keep a tab open on Twitter, surf other pages with the tab open, and get notified in the upper right hand corner of the screen whenever a direct message is received. Clicking on the notification will take the user to their direct messages.
There will also be a change coming to Twitter's Android app, with enhancements to the apps private messaging feature.
Shares of Twitter are down 3.8 percent Monday.
