Twitter (TWTR) Plans to Open Service Development Center in Japan

Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) is planning to open a service development center in Japan as the company moves to expand outside the U.S.
Speaking with Nikkei on Friday, Shailesh Rao, Twitter's vice president for Asia Pacific, Latin America and emerging markets, said Japan is a highly significant market, with the userbase growing 40 percent in 2014.
The development center will be located near Tokyo Station.
Twitter is planning to initially hire 10 engineers with operations commencing before the end of 2015.
Rao also noted that the Asia-Pacific region has the highest number of users by geographical region and is still in a high-growth state.
Shares of Twitter are lower in early trading.
