Traders Cheer Texas Instruments' (TXN) Q1 Results

Investors are buying shares of Texas Instruments (NYSE: TXN) following its Q1 earnings results, which came in above the Street's estimates on both EPS and sales. After closing today's intraday session at $17.32, the stock is trading around $17.86, up about 3% from the close.

The chipmaker also issued solid Q2 guidance for EPS of $0.01-$0.15 on sales of $1.95-$2.4 billion. The Street is currently expecting Q1 EPS of $0.02 and sales of $1.94 billion.
