McDonald's (NYSE: MCD) is rolling out a mobile application initiative as a way to draw in more millennials.
Bloomberg said today that McDonald's will make the mobile app compatible at 570 U.S. locations before the end of 2013. Currently, the app is compatible with 420 U.S. locations, with the addition of another 150 expected within weeks.
McDonald's has introduced new chicken wings as well as a smattering of other fall-themed items to draw in more U.S. customers. U.S. comps for locations open at least one year rose 0.2 percent in August, while consensus estimates were looking for a gain closer to 0.8 percent.
It wasn't made clear whether payments would be able to be made from the app or if the app was just a loyalty program.
