Time Warner Cable (TWC) Low-Priced Packages About to Get Sportier

September 22, 2011 8:03 AM EDT
Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC) is looking to give more to customers.

According to reports Thursday, the cable provider may expand it's low-priced programming package which normally excludes Disney's (NYSE: DIS) ESPN.

Sports channels are considered some of the most expensive for subscribers. By eliminating them, Time Warner Cable was able to offer a package priced at $30 to $40 per month, below the $73.50 per month spent by subscribers on average.

The NYPost reports the new services should roll out to some locations on the East Coast over the next few weeks.

Along with Time Warner, Disney will see a pop with the new, expanded exposure it's ESPN is receiving.
